Paradise
Watercolour
29" x 21" |
20k |
This was a change. I wanted to use vivid watercolours
in full stength. I was also trying to combine as many colours and shades
as I possibly could in one painting and make it work. |
The Farm House
Watercolour
36" x 28" |
18k |
This painting developed from a single pencil sketch then
into a watercolour in which I disregarded all sense of colour and light
sources. |
Grant Fuhr
Watercolour
28" x 22" |
33k |
I always liked doing sport figures. When the Grant Fuhr
trade came about and the league was celebrating its 75th year and they
brought back the old sweaters back I thought it would be a perfect time. |
The Homestead
Watercolour
32" x 26" |
18k |
A group of farm buildings which still exist today at Eglington,
off Winston Churchill Blvd. in the Mississauga area. I found the arrangement
of farm buildings and trees interesting. |
Sugar Bush
Watercolour
38" x 30" |
27k |
Sugar Bush is a painting of actual maple sugar shacks and bush at
Mountsberg Conservation Park (Milton Area). I found the rustic look
of the shacks and trees also light and shadows perfect. |
Fishing Boat
Watercolour
26" x 32" |
28k |
This painting is here for a purpose to remind me how far I have come
in watercolours. This is the very first attempt at painting with
watercolours. |
Country Living
Watercolour
18" x 24" |
33k |
The old country style of this home has been recreated in this new
house in old Meadowvale Village by the Credit River. |
The Barber House (Streetsville, ON)
Watercolour
28" x 34" |
30k |
This building is a landmark in the town of Streetsville,
Ontario. Once a house, it now stands as a restaurant for fine
dining. |
Morning Mist (St. Jacobs, ON)
Watercolour
18" x 28" |
24k |
This painting started from a photo I took when on a family outing to
St. Jacobs, Ontario. This is the bridge leading into town.
A flock of Canadian Geese is flying by as the morning mist was rising
from the river; also, a Mennonite horse and carriage is crossing the
bridge. |
The Cabot Trail
Watercolour
26" x 32" |
29k |
The person I was asked to paint this for was actually born in the
little village seen in this painting. |
Country Home
Watercolour
30" x 36" |
20k |
This country home outside the "Hustle and Bustle" of the
big city. A perfect setting, but no snow at this time. The
lovely couple to which this home belongs and I had agreed it would
look great as a winter scene. Finally, our wish came true; the
snow came, and so did the painting. |
The Farm
Watercolour
26" x 32" |
24k |
The farm you see in this painting no longer exists. I was
asked to paint it from a photograph for the person that actually lived
there as a boy. |
Seal Cove
Watercolour
30" x 36" |
22k |
The love of colour and shapes of each of the buildings inspired me
to paint this scene. The fact that all this was happening on
pylons on water was a perfect setting. |
Winter Retreat
Watercolour
29" x 36" |
22k |
I found this ideal setting with this country house on a wonderful
winding road during the coldest winter day that gave me the scene of a
winter retreat, hence the title. |
Solitude
Watercolour
29" x 36" |
16k |
This is a setting in the Mississauga area (8th Line and Brittania
Road). Driving along up 8th Line, this setting of a barn and
fence posts caught my eye. I instantly pictured this painting in
my mind. |
Hard Work
Watercolour
18" x 24" |
27k |
A painting of a house in Huntsville, Ontario. I was asked to
paint it because the person who owns it had laboured hard to build it
for himself as well as his family, so I titled it appropriately
"Hard Work". |
The Estate
Watercolour
29" x 36" |
22k |
The Estate, a favourite great manor house in Holland, was most
challenging because I had very little to work from. A black and
white postcard picture from a book was used as a reference. This
was to be interpreted into a full-colour painting. |
The Cottage Life
Watercolour
30" x 36" |
36k |
This cottage is set in beautiful Southern Ontario. This couple
had retirement in mind. This painting was a joy as well as a
challenge to paint, due to the bridge, rocks, and trees. |
Patrick Roy
Watercolour
22" x 28" |
53k |
The painting of Patrick Roy is another player, celebrating the 75th
year of the NHL by wearing the old Canadian's sweater. |
Toronto Skyline
Watercolour
12" x 16" |
26k |
The view of the Toronto skyline was taken from Centre Island.
The CN Tower and SkyDome being the focal points plus various
skyscrapers, sailboats, and the ferry crossing to the mainland. |
Credit Marshland
Watercolour
10" x 12" |
38k |
A pair of cranes in the marshlands of the Credit River. I
wanted to capture the crane as it soared in flight. |
Prairie Falcon
Watercolour, Pen & Ink
10" x 12" |
33k |
I found this photograph of this Prairie Falcon in a bird of prey
book and became interested in this shot with the eye, peck and the
colour, so I started sketching. This is the result. |
Chinese Horse
Pencil sketch
11" x 14" |
40k |
I was at the R.O.M. one day and this Chinese Horse caught my
eye. I was interested mostly in the head, the leg and the hoof
so I concentrated on these areas. |
Boomer
Watercolour
18" x 24" |
28k |
Boomer, a part of the family. A member of the family was
leaving home, so the rest of the family asked me to paint this
painting of their dog. |
Chow Chow
Watercolour
18" x 24" |
32k |
I was given a series of photos and was asked to create this
intriguing looking Chinese Chow with its collie-looking fur colouring
into a painting. |
Man, The Universe in Hand
Ink Sketching
11" x 14" |
89k |
Man working and existing with our universe in hand inspired this
work. I feel this etching portrays this perfectly. |
